How a visit feels

Gentler ways to get the work done.

Pain and discomfort should never be the reason you put off treatment. Three things we do to make sure they are not.

A slim dental handpiece and instruments laid out on a treatment tray.
01

Needle-free and drill-free, where possible

The problem: the noise, the vibration and the shot.

Air abrasion clears decay with a stream of air and fine particles instead of a drill, and the Biolase® Waterlase pairs a laser with cooling water. Patients typically do not need anesthesia to feel comfortable, and there is no lip numbness afterwards.

A dentist's gloved hands checking the jaw joints of a seated patient.
02

A dentist who looks at the whole bite

The problem: headaches and jaw pain nobody connects to your teeth.

Neuromuscular dentistry studies how the bite, the jaw joints and the facial muscles work together. It is how we treat TMJ disorder, and why a new crown is adjusted to keep undue pressure off your jaw.

A tooth-colored ceramic crown held above a chairside milling unit.
03

A crown in one visit, not several

The problem: a temporary crown, and weeks of waiting.

Our CEREC® system uses a digital impression to make a porcelain crown or onlay while you wait, color-matched to your own teeth. You leave with the final restoration the same day.

State-of-the-art technology

Tools that make care faster and kinder.

Several kinds of advanced technology keep your care as comfortable and efficient as possible, from the first diagnosis to the final restoration.

  • Dental lasersRemove periodontal bacteria and excess gum tissue with less bleeding and discomfort, and a faster recovery.
  • DIAGNOdent™Laser fluorescence finds cavities safely in their earliest stages.
  • 3D panoramic & digital x-raysSharper than film, enlarged on screen for precise diagnosis and planning.
  • CEREC®Digital impressions and same-day crowns, inlays and onlays.
  • Air abrasionA stream of air and fine particles removes damaged tooth material without the noise and vibration of a drill.

Digital imaging puts what the dentist sees on a screen you can see too.

Four treatments people ask about most.

Porcelain Veneers

Custom porcelain shells for chips, cracks, gaps and stubborn discoloration, color-matched to the teeth around them. Usually just two appointments, and with proper care they can last for many years.

Zoom! Whitening

In-office whitening that can lift your teeth by up to eight shades in about an hour. Take-home whitening is there too, if you would rather whiten on your own schedule.

Sinsational Smile®

About 20 minutes in the chair, two to five shades brighter, and a good choice if your teeth are sensitive. Comfortable silicone trays protect your gums.

Invisalign®

Clear aligner trays, worn at least 22 hours a day and taken out to eat, drink and brush. The consultation is free, and pre-paying earns a 5% courtesy.

TMJ & sleep

Jaw pain, clicking, headaches? Start with the bite.

TMJ disorder can mean grinding, jaw pain and a misaligned bite, and left untreated it can wear teeth down and damage the joint. Neuromuscular dentistry lets our dentists diagnose it and design a treatment plan around you.

  1. Clicking when you open or close your mouth, or a jaw that locks
  2. Headaches, neck pain, earaches or ringing in the ears
  3. Clenching and grinding, and teeth that are wearing down
  4. Snoring and tired days: custom oral appliances for sleep apnea
Latest TMJ review
Wow! I was amazed. NO one knows how to help patients with TMJ problems, or at least so I thought. Dr. Krohnfeldt is a true professional with great chair-side manner. He knows the nature of TMJ problems, and with their state-of-the-art technology, was quickly able to see my problem & helped me the same day. The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and the office is just beautiful. I’m going to transfer all my dental care to this office--even though we have to drive 3 hours to get there! Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Do you accept my insurance?

We can maximize insurance savings no matter what insurance you have, and we are happy to answer questions about your coverage at your next visit. Purely cosmetic treatment is not covered by typical dental plans, but when a crown or other restoration is needed for restorative reasons, we work with your insurance to maximize the coverage that applies.

Do you offer dental implants?

Yes. Implants are placed here in the office by Dr. Gallagher, and can be completed within one appointment. An implant is a titanium post anchored in the jawbone that supports a crown, a bridge or a denture.

How long do cosmetic treatments take?

Teeth whitening and dental bonding can be finished in a single visit. With our CEREC® system, crowns and onlays can be made and placed in one appointment. Veneers need preparation and custom fabrication at a dental lab first, so the total time is usually two to three weeks.

How is cosmetic dentistry different from general dentistry?

General dentistry keeps your teeth and gums healthy. Cosmetic dentistry improves how your smile looks. Our dentists combine general, restorative and cosmetic care, so your smile is as healthy as it is attractive.

I hate needles and the sound of the drill. Can you help?

Very often, yes. Air abrasion removes decay with a stream of air and fine particles rather than a drill, and our Biolase® Waterlase uses a laser with cooling water. With both, patients typically do not need anesthesia to feel comfortable, and there is no lingering lip numbness afterwards.

Which whitening is right for me?

Zoom! in-office whitening can brighten teeth by up to eight shades in about an hour. Sinsational Smile® takes about 20 minutes, lifts two to five shades and suits sensitive teeth. Take-home whitening lets you work on your own schedule. We will check that your teeth and gums are healthy first.
